Black Magic Design was founded by lead designer and head Richard Sterling who has an extensive background in yacht design and racing, while successfully taking 1st place at the Voiles du St Tropez and 1st place in the Maxi Rolex Porto Cervo Richard further developed his experience with advanced composite construction and established Black Magic Design. Black Magic Design continued to play a major role in the marine industry working on industry wide super and mega yacht projects, some of the biggest names we have worked on include the Katana, Pelorus, Southern Cross, Corinthian, Sovereign and the Tikititan.

Black Magic Design continued to expand to meet a growing demand in the market in the composite design and construction industry, since 2005 we have expanded into the aerospace industry designing interiors and aircraft structure. From 2012 Black Magic Design expanded outside of the composites industry and brought our passion to developing smart consumer electronics, in 2014 we developed a range of intelligent urban living lighting systems using IPT (Inductive Power Transfer).

Since 2012 we have also expanded into the automotive industry creating components for market leading brands like the Bentley, Jaguar, Austin Martin, the Mini and the McLaren. Our experience across a huge range of design and engineering practises have allowed us to become a one-stop solution for all areas of design, from concept development to end product our team are here to help you succeed.
